At iSecure, our story is rooted in a passion for protecting what matters most—whether it’s people, property, or the communities we serve. Founded in 2012 by Andy Collens, iSecure was built on values of dedication, integrity, and service—principles Andy has carried with him throughout his life.
From the Armed Forces to Fire & Security
Andy’s journey began just before his 17th birthday when he joined the British Army, attending Harrogate Army Foundation College before serving with the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment. During his military career, he was deployed to both Kosovo and Iraq, experiences that shaped his resilience, leadership, and attention to detail—qualities that form the foundation of iSecure today.
After leaving the Army, Andy was fortunate to receive a grant from The Royal British Legion, which enabled him to retrain in the fire and security industry. This opportunity led to the creation of iSecure, where Andy’s military-honed skills of discipline, precision, and commitment to safeguarding lives seamlessly translated into the world of security solutions.
Giving Back Through Service
Andy’s dedication to protecting others extends beyond the business. He is an active volunteer with Kent Search and Rescue (KSAR), a charitable organisation that assists emergency services in locating high-risk vulnerable missing people across Kent. Andy serves as a:
- Search Team Leader & Operator, coordinating and participating in search missions
- TRIM (Traumatic Incident Management) Team Member, providing peer support to volunteers involved in critical incidents
- Volunteer with the NSARDA Dog Team, working alongside specialist search dogs and their handlers
With over 10,000 people reported missing in Kent each year—around 1,000 of whom are categorised as high-risk—KSAR plays a vital role in life-saving operations. Andy’s contribution to these efforts reflects iSecure’s ethos: a commitment to making a real difference.
At iSecure, we actively support Andy’s volunteer work, providing the flexibility he needs to attend searches whenever possible. More than that, we encourage our entire team to give back, whether through volunteering, fundraising, or supporting local initiatives.
Proud Supporters of the Kent Neuro Therapy Centre
We are proud to support the Kent Neuro Therapy Centre (formerly known as the Kent MS Therapy Centre) in Canterbury, a charity that is very close to our hearts. We assist with the maintenance of their fire and security systems, ensuring the centre remains a safe space for everyone who relies on its vital services. We also contribute through donations for their coffee mornings, and our team actively volunteers at these monthly events. The centre is a lifeline for people living with MS and other neurological conditions, offering a wide range of therapies—including oxygen therapy—alongside emotional support and a vibrant calendar of social activities.
Our Beehive Project: Supporting Sustainability
We’re buzzing to share that our adopted beehive is now fully populated and producing honey! Bees are vital for pollination, supporting biodiversity, and sustaining ecosystems, making their preservation essential for the environment and food production. By adopting a hive, we’re doing our part to protect these incredible pollinators while promoting sustainability. We are proud to partner with Foxes Honey, who help make this initiative possible through their dedication to ethical and sustainable beekeeping.
